Chronic urticaria is a type of hives lasting six weeks or more without a known cause. Symptoms include red, itchy, raised welts on the skin that can range from small spots to large patches. They are often mistaken for mosquito bites.

We are seeking volunteers who have been diagnosed with chronic urticaria (hives) for more than six months, and continue to experience symptoms, despite being on antihistamine.

You may be able to participate in the study if you:

  • are aged over 18 years
  • have been taking antihistamine but not getting complete relief from your symptoms
  • are not pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive
  • can attend an appointment every 4 weeks for treatment at our Charlestown clinic.
