Immune-mediated diseases are a broad category of conditions where the immune system functions abnormally and the immune response is inappropriate or excessive, resulting in harm to the body.
Autoimmune diseases occur when the immune system specifically fails to recognise the body’s own cells and tissues as “self,” leading it to mount an attack against them.
About the Study
Novatrials is seeking volunteers with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, psoriasis, cutaneous lupus erythematosus, or atopic dermatitis (eczema) to join a clinical study of a potential new treatment for autoimmune or immune-mediated diseases. The study investigational drug is administered through a small subcutaneous injection.
The purposes of this study are to:
- Evaluate the safety and tolerability of the investigational drug
- Evaluate how the investigational drug gets into blood and is cleared from the body after administration
- Evaluate the effect of the investigational drug on the body and immune system
- Evaluate the effect of the investigational drug on disease symptoms
