Subcutaneous abdominal fat is the soft, pinchable layer located directly under the skin. High levels may be linked to health concerns like high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, and elevated blood glucose.
About the Study
Novatrials is seeking volunteers with unwanted subcutaneous abdominal fat to join a clinical study of a potential new treatment.
This two-stage treatment involves injections to the abdomen administered every 3 weeks (up to 4 doses over 9 weeks) at each stage. These injections will be given in-clinic by a qualified healthcare professional.
What to Expect
Participants will undergo:
- An initial screening visit
- Four in-clinic treatment visits over 9 weeks at each stage
- 6-month follow-up period in stage 1, and 3-month follow-up period in stage 2
Total study duration: Approximately 15 months including screening and follow-up.
Eligibility Requirements
You may qualify if you:
- Are aged 18 years or older
- Have a BMI between 18.5 to 30 and body weight over 50 kg
- Have had no cosmetic or medical injections in the abdominal area in the past 4 weeks
- Have had no previous abdominal fat reduction surgery
- Have had no aesthetic procedures for abdominal fat reduction in the past 12 months
- Have not taken weight loss medication in the past 6 months
- Are not breastfeeding, pregnant or trying to conceive
