Cardiac Research is located within the Illawarra Heart Health Centre, Wollongong hospital.
Wollongong Hospital is the largest of Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District’s nine hospitals, treating more than 47,000 patients annually. It is the region’s tertiary referral hospital which means it has the capacity to treat specialist and complex cases. The health service has a population of 385,250, covering a large geographic region extending along 250km of coastline.
Cardiac Research is supported by a team of specialist nurses and cardiologists with over 20 years’ experience conducting pharmaceutical sponsored clinical trials, investigator driven clinical trials and collaborative studies. We have experience in phase II, III and IV studies operating in accordance with ICH-GCP and the National Statement of Ethical Conduct in Human Research.
Our objective is to ensure that patients receive the most up to date care whilst providing patients the opportunity to contribute to ongoing research. We strive to provide and maintain a centre of excellence, whilst contributing to the global world of cardiac research.
