We are a private specialist medical centre lead by Dr Claire Morbey, Endocrinologist. Our team includes Certified Clinical Research Coordinator, Louretta Dwyer, Registerd Nurse/ Diabetes Educator, Annette Parkes Considine, Dietitan, Psychologist, as well as administration support which includes data entry. Our staff are GCP and IATA trained.
Our centre is well established having now conducted over 10 clinical trials. Our facility is ICHGCP compliant with calibrated equipment and restricted access area for storage of study product and confidential participant records. There is also a pharmacy onsite.
A clinic wide database is used to identify potential clinical trial participants as well as a clinical trial specific database being established in the last three years.
We use a system wherby all central documents can be shared with approved users such as Sponsors or CRO’s which contains key documents such as SOP’s, medical registrations, CV’s, Indemnities etc
We use Bellberry Human Research Ethics Committee in South Australia. Their online ethics approval system “eprotocol” is fast and efficient. We pride ourselves on the ability to satisfy fast start-ups with the first patient enrolled approximately 4 weeks from submission. Amendments and safety reporting are usually acknowledged within 2 days.
Our specialty areas include Type 1 Diabetes, Obesity and Type II Diabetes. We are currently running a large 3 year long T2D and cardiovascular disease study and have the greatest number of participants in Australia.
We consider our great success is due to a dedication and determination to be instrumental in bringing about improved therapies for the future for all. We are not only very successful recruiters but enjoy a high retention rate which comes down to careful consideration of study protocols as well as careful selection of suitable participants.
